Taste it : HEXE by Skadi Winter ‘Bear man. Your world is not mine. Revenge does not cool my heart’, I cried. I flew on across the snow covered plains and a red mist lingered over http://bodies of horses, their blood flowing like a scarlet river towards an endless horizon. Men were lying in the snow, their hands reaching towards the gods and goddesses who did not care, but watched in sorrow man’s foolish battles. The gods of old knew battles of honour and gold, men playing with fate to gain a place in Valhalla. But men, challenged by Ymir, the Frost Giant, the Evil One, lay there, brutally slaughtered. Burning houses appeared below me, little dots of glowing ambers in a vast desert of white. The cries of men, women and children, were carried by the wind into the consciousness of Mother Earth, as they died in the hope of a life beyond hurt and pain. The bleeding earth, smoke choking the will of life itself, the stench of corpses and decay rose up to me, causing tears to spill like a cooling river of mercy. Thought and mind, Huginn and Munnin fly to Odhinn to tell my tale. The ravens were gone and I was alone, looking over dark forests and deep seas. I felt no fear, but a deep sorrow overcame me. I felt the hands of the one-eyed man gently caressing me, like a father caresses his child. I looked around to see his face, but only a shadow moved above my head. In a dream, I continued my journey as if seeing myself from unimaginable heights.”
